About
Us
History
Central Bank of Georgia is an online banking
institution launched in 2001, but our banking expertise goes back
to 1910 when our parent company was first chartered. Our focus
is narrow - interest checking and money market accounts. And operating
from a small city in Southwest Georgia, our expenses, relatively
speaking, are very low. Therefore, we can offer rates that are
among the highest anywhere.
Charter
Although new to the Web, Central
Bank of Georgia formerly know as Bank of Ellaville, was
first charted as a state institution in 1910. During the past
ninety plus years, the bank has been a highly successful community
institution in Southwest Georgia. As an active member of the Federal
Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Central Bank of Georgia
ensures that its account-holders' funds are fully protected up
to $100,000.
